Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026. This policy explains how Vice of Verse handles account, music, content, safety, purchase, analytics, and support information.
Interpretations stay personal.
Vice of Verse hosts user interpretations and short excerpts for discussion. It does not publish official lyric meanings or full lyric sheets, and every public surface includes reporting, moderation, and takedown paths.
What we collect
We process account identifiers, public profile details, posts, short user-selected excerpts, comments, reports, blocks, support requests, device/app diagnostics, age-verification status, and subscription entitlement status. Spotify connections are optional; connected listening data is used only to create personal room recommendations and can be disconnected.
Why we use it
Data runs song rooms, social features, safety review, fraud prevention, support, entitlement restoration, and product reliability. We do not sell personal information or use connected music data to train advertising profiles.
Advertising and paid features
Advertising and paid subscriptions are disabled for this launch. The app includes advertising and purchase SDKs, but its launch controls disable ad placements and paid features. Firebase Analytics remains enabled. Previously distributed versions may include Unity LevelPlay advertising, whose partners may process approximate location, device or other IDs including the advertising ID, ad interactions, and diagnostics for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and compliance. We do not provide your posts, messages, or optional Spotify listening data to advertising partners.
Service providers
Firebase provides authentication, data storage, functions, and product analytics. We collect app error reports and diagnostics to maintain reliability. The app includes Firebase Crashlytics, whose automatic collection is disabled in this release configuration. Spotify connections are optional. Advertising and purchase integrations remain disabled for this launch. RevenueCat provides subscription entitlement processing where enabled, and Unity LevelPlay provides advertising mediation in previously distributed versions. Expo helps route push notifications and provides ticket and receipt status. Notification delivery also uses the device platform's push service. We transmit the notification token and message payload needed for delivery; temporary ticket identifiers support receipt processing. Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy documentation.
Retention and your choices
Public posts remain until you delete them or moderation removes them. Support and safety records are retained only as long as needed for resolution, legal obligations, and abuse prevention. You can manage blocks, privacy, connected music, and account deletion in the app. A web deletion request is available from the Help Center.
When an account is deleted, we remove its push notification token and account binding. To prevent delayed notification-registration requests from reactivating a device for the wrong account, we retain only a hash of that token and an ordering counter. This security record has no automatic expiry, cannot itself be used to send notifications, and is not used for advertising or analytics.
To deliver notifications and prevent duplicate sends, we keep a limited delivery record containing hashed account, device, token and notification identifiers, registration ordering information, delivery status and error codes. These hashes are pseudonymous and may still be linkable to account activity. While a notification is awaiting confirmation, the record can also contain its Expo receipt ticket identifier. We remove the ticket identifier when receipt processing reaches a terminal result or its processing deadline. Receipt handling has a 24-hour deadline. Delivery metadata is scheduled for cleanup after seven days; cleanup is best effort and may take longer during interruptions or backlogs. Existing application logs have a 30-day retention setting and required audit logs have a 400-day setting. These delivery records are separate from the limited security counter retained after account deletion.
